Louisiana Red Beans & Dirty Rice

To make:

Wash the included red kidney beans in a strainer and place them in a pot with at least 5 cups of water. (Beans will soak up water.)

Important: Beans must be cooked separately.

In a large pot, simmer for 60 – 90 minutes or until beans are tender. Drain beans and set aside.

Brown your choice of sliced, spicy sausage in a large pot – we recommend Andouille, Chorizo, or Italian Sausage. Next, add beans, 6 cups of water, and the “Lousiana Red Beans & Rice” mixture (included) to the sausage. Stir. Bring to a boil.

Lower heat and simmer for 30 minutes or until tender. Fluff rice with a fork.

    Kids favourite. Ask for it weekly. Definitely didn’t know they could love beans this much!
